For the last few months all of us at Spacecadet Design have been drooling over the cute cupcakes offered by our sweetest client The Cupcakery.  Visions of pastel coloured swirls of mile-high icing piled on the tops of light-as-air cupcakes have filled our dreams and made hungry tummy’s growl.

But, with a flourish of trumpets, The Cupcakery opens in the heart of Osborne Village  (439 Stradbrook) tomorrow (May 23rd, 2008) at 10:00 am and we can all get our hands on these little morsels of goodness that are… every bit delicious.

SCD has been busy creating a logo, tagline, website, exterior and interior signage, sell sheets, advertising, product labels, writing copy and planning, planning and planning the launch that seemed never to come and yet came all too quickly.

If you look around your neighborhood you’ll find some green and back 11 x 17 inch posters positioning cupcakes as the new donut and why not? Donuts are heavy, lightly iced and what’s with the hole …did I not pay for that hole too?

Cupcakes are light and airy, piled high with pink, blue or yellow icing, they make you smile and when bitten….well that’s where words simply fail and your senses take over.
