Motherbrand

Motherbrand was launched in 2003 to be a showcase and a voice for the different disciplines of Canadian design. Industrial design, graphic design, environmental design and textile design, among others, are represented by this collective group.

Spacecadet Design is one of the charter members. Since 2003, Motherbrand has created and participated in shows across the world and has been featured in a variety of magazines, newspapers, television and radio.

Motherbrand’s second major project, Cabin, brought extensive exposure to the group. The project, which featured Canadian designers re-imagining the myth of the Cabin, debuted in Tokyo at the Canadian Embassy and traveled to New York City and across Canada. Designers from all across Canada participated in the show.

One of the current ongoing projects of Motherbrand is the Canadian Design Resource which seeks to become the definitive archive of Canadian design. People from all across Canada and beyond submit definitive pieces of design from our past and present.
