Art Director
Shannon Dewey, a graduate of Fine Arts from University of Manitoba, received her honours graphic design thesis way back in 1996. Upon graduation, she bummed around Europe for a couple of months soaking up the culture, architecture and all the art history she learned in school. After a much-too-surreal stint at a Farm and Ranch publication in Calgary, she yearned to return to her vibrant and cultural city. Back home in Winnipeg, she cut her teeth in a large advertising agency for 4 years before landing her arse in a coveted chair up in the Spacecadet studio. August 2008 will mark Shannon’s 7th anniversary at Spacecadet and she couldn’t be more thrilled with her cadet family. She enjoys being part of a versatile team that - along with all the creative, passionate bones in the studio - boasts business and street smarts to boot. While everyone else at Spacecadet oozes technical saavy with all the latest gadgets, Shannon just joined the rest of the planet and got herself a cell phone. Way to go, Shan! Now if she could only figure out how to program everyone’s numbers in it. Along with graphic design, advertising and working closely with her clients, Shannon also enjoys the smell of trees in the wind, running arms spread through wheat fields and the sound of crickets.
